COVENTRY — Two Coventry men were arrested for their alleged involvement in a breaking and entering incident in town over the weekend, according to the Coventry Police Department. Robert Ferro, 43, of Murray Street, and Michael Chrissos, 24, of Flat River Road, were arrested Sunday and charged with breaking and entering without consent, according to Sgt. John Shields of the Coventry Police Department.
The two men allegedly gained entrance into an apartment in the same building that Ferro lives in by removing an air conditioning unit from one of the windows, Shields said. The two were arrested after witnesses alleged they had entered the apartment and taken a large television, according to Shields. Ferro and Chrissos were caught shortly after witnesses notified police, Shields said. The television, which belonged to an apartment resident who was in the process of moving out, was recovered, he said. The alleged theft qualifies as a felony, Shields said, and both men were arraigned this week. At their arraignments on Monday, according to a court blotter provided by the Coventry Police Department, neither Ferro nor Chrissos entered a plea to the charge of breaking and entering without consent. Both were released on $10,000 personal recognizance bail and screening hearings for both are scheduled for Dec. 15. Chrissos’ address on the court blotter is given as Village Court, West Warwick. |
